Thoughts on Writing

When I get discouraged, I remind myself that nothing worth having comes easy.

There's a lot of advice floating around out there - some of it good. Some of it bad. It's important to remember that what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for others.

Where Has This Year Gone?

Can you believe we are literally one month away from the new year? I’m not sure where the time has gone.  It seems like only last month, I was watching 4th of July fireworks…  And the past couple of days?  Decorating for Christmas.  I think the only thing left to do on the inside is to trim the banister with garland.  (Sigh of relief)

A lot has been going on the last couple of months.  We’ve been remodeling our home and it has thrown my whole life out of wack!  Writing on my WIP has come to a stop and I haven’t had a lot of time to stop by and visit your blogs.  The struggle has been real…

On the bright side:

MP GradLast week, we drove to Fort Lost in the Woods, Misery (Fort Leonard Wood, MO) to pick up our youngest son.  He graduated from MP school and is now a NC National Guard Reservist.  After driving 2,300 miles in three days – all I can say is -I’m not as young as I once was!  That trip kicked my butt.

AND-

InstagramCapture_bcdbf73c-8a3d-48ea-9d5b-05b9a6aa58c6We became grandparents!  I’m Lolli and my hubby is Pops.  Yes, I know – it’s the cheesiest grandparent names ever!  But, we don’t care.  Not every kid gets the chance to go to Lolli-Pops for a visit!  But, if my son has his way, Pops will be called the Dread Pirate LeRoy.  (For those who don’t get the reference, you gotta watch The Princess Bride!)

So – that’s what been going on in my life.

How’s things been with you?

Picture This #13: To Be Young

Just in case you didn’t know, I confess – I’m a Harry Potter Freak!  Absolutely loved the series.  To be honest, I’m not sure who was more excited with the release of each book – my children or me!  So, when I saw that J.K. Rowling had confirmed that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was going to be on stage AND then I saw the promo pics for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – you could say I was in Potter Heaven!

I thought I’d share my favorite HP quote (along with a photo of course):
